Meet with a Librarian
Are you struggling to choose a research topic? Do you need assistance finding sources or understanding how to cite them? If you feel overwhelmed and are unsure where to start, we can help! Our librarians are ready to assist you at every stage of the research process. The Reference Desk is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm, and you can schedule an appointment for a one-on-one consultation with any of our professional librarians.

Allen Memorial Library is located on the corner of Viking Drive and 2nd Ave SW.
To get to the library from I-94, take exit 292 for Valley City and head north on 8th Ave SW. Turn right on Viking Drive. Turn left onto 2nd Ave SW. The library building will be on the right.
When arriving from downtown Valley City, from the intersection of Central Ave and Main St, head east on Main Street. Turn right onto 3rd Ave SE, then turn right after four blocks onto College St SE. Turn left on 2nd Ave SW. The library building will be on the left.

The User Services Department helps users access library resources and is the primary point of contact for all AML users. Our services include circulating library materials, providing ready reference, facilitating interlibrary loans, maintaining inventory and stacks, and overseeing the opening and closing of the library facilities. We coordinate library space bookings and aid with printing, copying and scanning.
